Amid political discourse over Rahul Gandhi’s “traitor” remark towards MP Ravneet Bittu, Aujla said the Centre was anti-Punjab.

“Today, the BJP is pointing fingers at Rahul Gandhi, whereas the real betrayal is what BJP has done to the country. Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s last rites were not performed in a dignified manner. This was a direct insult to the entire Sikh community, and Punjab,” he said.

Aujla said Modi came to Punjab twice, but left the state “empty-handed” both times.

He added that Gandhi emotionally called Bittu a “traitor friend”, adding that the BJP was deliberately distorting the comment.

The MP said Gandhi demanded answers on serious issues such as China’s intrusion, but he was not allowed to even speak before the Parliament.

Aujla termed the Union Budget as anti-Punjab, saying it would lead to huge cuts in key sectors.
