Titled ‘Brush and Beyond’, the exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Atam Singh Randhawa, principal of Khalsa College.
Randhawa appreciated the consistent efforts of KAUSA Trust in promoting art and culture in the region by providing exhibition space free of cost to artists at KT:Kalã Museum.
Museum Director Brajesh Jolly informed that around 70 artworks have been displayed in the exhibition, which will run until March 13. The works on display include landscapes, portraits, abstracts and other genres created by the students.
“Art students’ programmes help explore creativity and provide a healthy outlet and visibility for young artists. Our aim is to strengthen the next generation of artists from the city,” said Rajesh Raina, secretary of KAUSA Trust.
The exhibition would also give students some academic advantage, as these artworks are part of the course-based practical implementation of their learning. Jolly said that if any student is able to secure a buyer for their art or find a patron, it would be “just icing on the cake”.
More than 20 students from Khalsa College, Amritsar attended the inauguration ceremony. Among the distinguished dignitaries present were senior artists Kulwant Singh Gill, Narinder Singh, Dharminder Sharma and others.
