Amritsar, December 10

Chandigarh University will conduct its own national-level entrance test, CUCET-2020. It will be mandatory for engineering and MBA courses. For other 109 programmes offered by the university, the test would offer academic scholarships worth Rs27 crore for students.

“Based upon its strong and modern academic model, research initiatives, smart and technology driven, industry patronage, record campus placements, student achievements at international and national sports, technical, cultural competitions and international tie-ups, Chandigarh University, Gharuan, has been able to place itself into the list of elite universities and institutions of India,” said Dr RS Bawa, vice-chancellor, Chandigarh University. He was interacting with media during a press conference in Amritsar.

The entrance test is slated to be conducted online (www.cucet.cuchd.in) in three phases where the registration of phase-I will end by December 20. More than 10,000 students have already registered for the first phase while the second phase will start from January to April and final phase would be held from May to July.

The university has started new age programmes in artificial intelligence and machine learning, business analytics, big data, banking and financial engineering, food technology, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, added Bawa. He said the university had got UGC nod to run distance learning programmes from the January 2020 session”.
