Amritsar, January 13

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress-led state government, veteran BJP leader Laxmi Kanta Chawla has said that due to the "inefficacy" of the state government, many retirees are waiting for their dues for long.

The state government often raises hue and cry about its empty coffers. "In case the government has no money to pay to the employees who are on the verge of retirement, it should not let them superannuate and instead allow them to continue with their jobs until the government becomes capable enough to pay them," she said in a state issued here today.

An employee has a lot of hopes from the money he gets after retirement as he plans marriage of his progeny and construction of house, she said.
