Many city-based organisations on Friday staged protests against the fidayeen attack on a CRPF convoy at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.

Former Health Minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla, while expressing grief over the loss of so many lives in the dastardly terrorist attack, asked the government to “probe the role of intelligence agencies”. She said measures must be taken to ensure that such terrorist strikes were not repeated.

Former Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi paid tributes to the martyrs.  Members of the BJP Yuva Morcha, led by Gautam Arora, held a protest outside Hathi Gate.

BJYM state secretary Narinder Pal Singh Lubana and state media secretary Arundeep Singh, in a press note issued here today, condemned the terrorist act. They offered homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in this despicable incident. They also prayed for the early recovery of the injured soldiers.

BJP leaders said the entire nation was with the families of the slain soldiers in this hour of sorrow. They demanded strong action and a befitting reply to those responsible for this inhuman and cowardly attack.

Members of the District Congress Committee (Urban), led by its president Jatinder Sonia, held a candlelight march to pay tributes to the martyred soldiers. In her address, she flayed the Narendra Modi government for its failure to act against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. She added that it resulted in rampant audacious terrorist attacks against the security forces.

Ward No. 56 Block Congress Committee, led by its councillor Parmod Babla, held a protest. He said since the NDA government assumed power, Pakistan was resorting to such dastardly acts.

The local unit of the All-India Anti-Terrorist Organisation held a protest against the Pakistan Government. They also burnt the Pakistani flag.
