Colourful functions mark Teacher’s Day celebration in schools
Teacher’s Day was celebrated in different educational institutions on Thursday. The day was celebrated at Guru Amar Dass Adarsh Institute, Goindwal Sahib, to strengthen the feelings of respect among students towards their teachers. Poems, speeches, songs, dances, bhangra and plays were presented by the students related to Teacher’s Day.
Various fun competitions were held and the winning teachers were honoured with prizes. Chairman Jaspal Singh Randhawa and Principal Manisha Sood congratulated the teachers and said that students succeed in their lives only due to true dedication and hard work.
Managing Director of the local Punjab Children’s Academy Harmanpreet Singh, while addressing a colourful function organised in the academy, described teachers as founders of society who at the cost of their personal interests, contribute to the betterment of society.
The teachers of local Mamta Niketan School were honoured by school principal Gurcharan Kaur. The principal in her address talked about President Dr S. Radhakrishnan in whose memory the day is celebrated.
The students presented a cultural programme in Mata Sahib Kaur Modern Senior Secondary School, Bharowal. President of the school managing committee Sukhwinder Kaur congratulated the teachers who were honoured and given gifts.
