A cop, identified as Baldev Singh, has been robbed of Rs 10,000 by unidentified looters. The victim was returning home after his duty hours when he was targeted.
According to information, he withdrew Rs 10,000 from an ATM located near old Civil Lines police station. When he came out of the ATM booth, a person in his twenties pointed a pistol at him and snatched his money before fleeing. He said his two accomplices were waiting for him on a motorcycle. They fled towards Kitchlew Chowk, he said. The police have registered a case under Section 379-B (2) of the IPC and Sections 25, 27, 54, 59-A of the Arms Act against unknown persons.
House burgled
Meanwhile, unknown persons burgled a house belonging to Raman Sharma, a resident of Batala Road. Raman Sharma, along with his wife, was at a hospital where their daughter was admitted due to illness. He took his daughter to the hospital on Sunday evening. Next morning, when his wife Aarti went to the house, she found two LEDs, a microwave and Rs 59,000 missing from the house. The police have registered a case under Sections 380 and 457 of the IPC.
