A day after a couple was robbed by three unknown armed persons, a similar incident occurred in Mulla Behram village on Saturday. Victim Resham Singh of Gumanpura village stated to the police that the accused took away Rs 3,500 in cash and gold ornaments of his wife.

Though the accused had covered their faces, the face of one of them got exposed accidently during the robbery. Now, he has been identified as Jagga Singh of Manan village in Tarn Taran. The police said raids were on to nab the culprits.

Resham Singh informed the police that he, along with his wife, was returning to his native village on bike and three motorcycle-borne persons intercepted them near Mulla Behram village. They had covered their faces with handkerchiefs and were equipped with sharp-edge weapons.

They threatened to kill them in case they did not hand over their cash and jewellery. Amid this, the face of Jagga Singh got uncovered and his wife identified him. Before escaping, they also took away the keys of his motorcycle.

Section 379-B (2) of the IPC has been slapped. This is the second such incident in past two days. Three armed persons had robbed a couple of Rs 16,000, two mobiles and ornaments at Thande village on Thursday. The victim was going to his in-laws when the accused intercepted them.

Vikramjit Singh, a resident of Ishwar Nagar on Tarn Taran road, along with his wife, was going to his in-laws at Ibban Kalan village and reached near Thande village when three youths travelling on a bike came from behind and intercepted them. They snatched their mobiles and Rs 16,000 from them. They also took away silver anklets of his wife and gold earrings besides other documents and plastic money from their possession.
