Cyclist hit by speeding truck, dies

A cyclist was on Wednesday killed on the spot when he was hit by a speeding tipper truck on National Highway No. 54 here. The deceased has been identified as Jagjit Singh Jagga (40), son of Puran Singh of Bachare village.

The victim was going to work on a bicycle in the morning when he was hit by the truck near Pandori Gola village. His body was badly mutilated. The city police, led by ASI Gurmeet Singh, reached the spot and took the body into their custody and arrested truck driver Harjit Singh, a resident of Thariyewal (Majitha), responsible for the accident.

The police have registered a case under Sections 281, 106 and 342 (4) of the BNS.
