Dr Eliska Zigova, Ambassador of the Czech Republic and Amrit Singh from the Directorate of Higher Education, Punjab, held bilateral discussions today to explore the possibility of collaboration during Dr Zigova’s visit to Khalsa College, Amritsar. The possible collaboration with Czech universities, student exchange, skill development and other allied subjects were discussed with emphasis on building network in the education sector.

A delegation led by the Czech Ambassador is on a three-day visit to Punjab from July 8 to July 10. “The Czech Republic offers high quality study programmes as well as affordable living costs, all in one brilliant study abroad destination. Czech universities rank among the best in East Europe and their degree programmes are internationally recognised,” said Dr Zigova.

Amrit Singh explained the scenario of higher education in Punjab to the Czech Republic delegation and the areas where the two sides can cooperate. Singh told the delegation that the department has established 16 new government colleges with state-of-the-art infrastructure in rural areas.
