AMRITSAR: Choreographer-turned-director Sunil Thakur has tried to explore the love in the 90s with his upcoming movie ‘Marriage Palace’.

Choreographer-turned-director Sunil Thakur has tried to explore the love in the 90s with his upcoming movie ‘Marriage Palace’.

The debutant director is keen on making family cinema in future.

The movie stars Punjabi singer Sharry Maan and actress Payal Rajput in the lead roles. The movie is set in the 90s depicting romance without the internet and rage among people for marriage palaces.

“The movie is set in 1995. Effort was made to re-establish the era via STD booths, audio cassettes among others. We also customised wigs for our actors,” said director Sunil Thakur.

The movie also touches the trend of marriage palaces in the 90s and love without digital space.

“The concept of such palaces was new in the 90s. It tells about the craze of people with palaces in that era. The story is about a marriage in a palace and event that follow,” added Thakur.

The comedy movie also has Jaswinder Bhalla, BN Sharma, Anita Devgan and others.

The team was here on Monday to promote their film to be released on November 23. The director was born in Amritsar, lived in Patiala, before moving to Mumbai in the nineties.

He is keen on making good cinema in future.

“I shall be making family oriented movies. This is the kind of movie which can be enjoyed by all members of the family. I am working on few Punjabi and Hindi movies too,” he added.

“Marriage Palace” is a comedy movie taking back to the 90s Punjab, when a village boy along with his friend moves to big city in pursuit of his true love.
