Dhaliwal distributes Rs 2.40 crore grant to unanimously elected gram panchayats
Urges them to re-elect the AAP govt again in 2027
Chief spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Ajnala MLA, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, has urged voters to start preparing to re-elect the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Dhaliwal was distributing cheques to five unanimously elected gram panchayats in the flood-ravaged border constituency of Ajnala.
Dhaliwal called Opposition parties ‘out of tune’ while addressing public meetings in the gram panchayats of Nizampura, Nava Pind, Bhagwanpura, Nissoke and Gaggar —which received grants, out of the total announced Rs 2.40 crore. The grants were released for 48 villages in the constituency.
Criticising the Congress and Akali-BJP alliance, he said that despite being repeatedly rejected by voters in the by-elections, municipal and panchayat polls after 2022, these parties have failed to learn any lesson. “Instead of presenting a constructive programme for Punjab’s prosperity, they are merely raising their political pitch for the upcoming elections,” he said.
He claimed voter support as the Mann government had doled out free electricity, free health insurance up to Rs 10 lakh per citizen, conducted Nasha Mukt and Sikhiya Kranti campaigns under various development and employment-oriented initiatives. “2026 is being celebrated as ‘Year of Development’ with large-scale works underway in villages, towns and cities,” he said.
