Divers search for remnants of Pak drone in UBD canal

TARN TARAN: A 10-member divers’ team, under the supervision of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), launched a search operation of the Upper Bari Doab Canal (UBDC) near Dode village to locate parts of the drone, which dropped arms in the border area on September 22.

A 10-member divers’ team, under the supervision of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), launched a search operation of the Upper Bari Doab Canal (UBDC) near Dode village to locate parts of the drone, which dropped arms in the border area on September 22. The team, led by lady SP rank officer, searched the canal and claimed to locate some of the parts of the drone.

Earlier, Robinjit Singh of Chabal was arrested in the case. He told the agencies that the arms and ammunition thrown by the drone were burnt at a deserted sheller of Chabal Township and the parts were thrown in the UBDC near Dode village.

A search of UBDC was also conducted few days after the drone threw weapons. On Saturday, it was the second attempt to search the parts of the drone. — OC
