Drugs found hidden near border fence

The BSF has seized around 1 kg of heroin from the India-Pakistan border falling in the Amritsar sector.

A BSF official said that yesterday, BSF troops thwarted the attempt to smuggle three packets of the contraband, suspected to be heroin, in the area under the 144th Bn BSF. The contraband was concealed near the border fencing in an Indian field near the zero line. “Anti-national elements are trying hard to smuggle drugs by adopting various modus operandi, but the attempts are being foiled by vigilant BSF men,” he said. — TNS
