Eco Sewa, a citizens' initiative to clean up city's roads, corners and public spaces have found support from the Municipal Corporation, Amritsar and Swachh Bharat Mission as they conducted a three-day cleanliness drive to commemorate World Earth Day across key locations in Amritsar. Promoting waste segregation and civic responsibility the drive had kids, students, senior citizens and officials of the Corporation picking up broom, raising slogans and inspiring people to be concious of their surroundings and keeping them clean.

The campaign kicked off from Green Avenue Ward No. 4, flagged off by Jainder Singh, ADC Amritsar. Today, at Company Garden, hundreds if citizens joined in cleaning green waste and sanitation workers gave live demonstration of composting.

MC Commissioner Bikramjit Singh, said, "We must work together in keeping the city clean as it is the job of every citizen. We make ourselves aware about waste segregation and follow it in spirit."

Students from The Millennium School and Shehzada Nand Colleges performed skit (nukkad natak) for awareness and purpose to the rally.

Sanitation workers, volunteers and citizens joined hands to spread the message of wet and dry waste segregation.

The drive reinforced that collective community effort is key to keeping Amritsar clean and green. The drive would continue on April 22 at Heritage Street.
