AMRITSAR: The district health department on Tuesday organised an event to create awareness about contraceptive measures available at public health institute as part of the ongoing World Population Fortnight at Civil Hospital here.

The district health department on Tuesday organised an event to create awareness about contraceptive measures available at public health institute as part of the ongoing World Population Fortnight at Civil Hospital here.

Presiding over the event, Civil Surgeon Dr Hardeep Singh Ghai informed the patients about the new injectable contraceptive injection, which can prevent unwanted pregnancy for three months. The injection was introduced in the district around three months ago as a part of the ‘Antara’ project, a family welfare scheme. The use of the injection is the most effective way to avoid unwanted and non-planned pregnancies and is the best instrument of family planning.
