Firing over land dispute leaves one injured

TARN TARAN: Two persons of Amarkot village, 40 km from here, have been accused of opening fire in Dasuwal village, leaving a villager injured.

Two persons of Amarkot village, 40 km from here, have been accused of opening fire in Dasuwal village, leaving a villager injured. The accused, Parminder Singh and Kulwinder Singh, have been booked under Sections 307, 506, 341, 148, 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act.

The incident took place three days ago.

Victim Karanbir Singh of Valtoha is under treatment at a private hospital in Amritsar.

Arwinderbir Singh, brother of Karanbir Singh, mentioned in his police complaint that they had a property dispute with the accused. He said they were going to their fields in Dasuwal village to spray fertilisers when the accused, armed with firearms, turned up. According to the complainant, they fired at them, leaving Karanbir injured.

According to information, the accused fled away from the after committing crime. Police officials said further investigation was going on and efforts were being made to trace the accused.
