Ghadar activist Bibi Gulab Kaur’s birth centenary celebrated in Patti

The birth centenary of Bibi Gulab Kaur, who was active in the Ghadar movement, was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm by the Aurat Mukti Morcha at Shaheed Sohan Lal Pathak Park in Patti on Sunday. The women gathered under the chairmanship of the state leader of the Morcha, Inderjit Kaur.

The meeting was addressed by state leaders of the Morcha, Prof Raghbir Kaur and Prof Surinder Kaur. They said that at the age of 25, Bibi Gulab Kaur, following in the footsteps of Mai Bhago, was active in the Ghadar movement. She changed her disguise to overthrow the British rule and became active in the Ghadar movement.

Among others who addressed the meeting were Harbhajan Singh Chuslewar, Dharam Singh Patti and Mahavir Singh Gill. Public personalities like Jagir Singh, Dilbagh Singh Gadvind, Jagtar Singh Asal and Satpal Patti also addressed the gathering. The leaders also condemned the Punjab government for adopting oppressive policies against farmers and labourers.
