Ghurakwind village resident booked for abducting teenage girl

The Sadar police have booked Jashan, a resident of Ghurakwind village, on the charge of abducting a teenage girl of a village days ago. A case was been registered by the police on Tuesday against the accused in this connection.

Assitant Sub-Inpector (ASI) Karamjit Kaur recorded statement of victim’s mother. The ASI said the accused abducted girl on February 25 on the pretext of marrying her. The victim’s mother said her daughter used to complain about harassment by the accused.

A case under Sections 137 (2) and 96 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered against the accused in this connection. Raids were on to nab the accused, said the Sadar police here on Tuesday.
