Calling the case of death of late Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, District Manager of Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, under suspicious circumstances as “extremely sad and concerning”, he stated that despite the arrest of Laljit Singh Bhullar, the investigation falls short to ensure hasty justice to the family.

“Gagandeep Singh Randhawa had been facing mental harassment, pressure and threats for a long time related to his official duties and tender-related matters. He added that this case raises serious questions not only about personal behaviour but also about the administrative system,” Aujla writes in the letter.

The letter also noted that an FIR has been filed against former minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, his father and personal assistant under sections of abetment to suicide, criminal intimidation and other charges. Serious allegations have also been made regarding tampering with evidence, failure to submit electronic devices, and delays in processing CCTV records.

MP Aujla demanded from the Chief Minister that the other accused named in the FIR should be arrested immediately and strict action taken against those who tampered with evidence. He also demanded immediate financial assistance and protection for the victim’s family, a government job for one member of family and release of pending salaries, pensions and other benefits.
