GNDU Architecture Dept lifts Jashan-2026 trophy

The Department of Architecture of Guru Nanak Dev University has won the overall trophy for Jashan-2026, the university’s annual cultural festival, the results of which were declared during a prize distribution function held on the campus recently.

The Department of Laws secured the second position, while the Department of Education finished third in the overall rankings.

In the individual categories, Sahana of the Department of Laws was declared ‘Miss Jashan-2026’ for her performance in various musical events.

Hardik Pangotra of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was declared ‘Mr Jashan-2026’.

In the fine arts event, the Department of Architecture bagged the first position, followed by the Education Department and the School of Social Sciences in the second and third places, respectively.

In the literary events, CET secured the top position, while the Electronics Technology Department and the School of Social Sciences stood second and third, respectively. The Department of Laws clinched the first place in the music event, followed by the Mechanical Engineering and Architecture departments in the second and third places, respectively.

In the theatre category, USFS stood first, while the Education and Architecture departments secured the second and third positions, respectively.

In the dance event, CET bagged the first position, followed by the Department of Laws and USFS in the second and third places, respectively.

Registrar KS Chahal, in his address, said such cultural events provided an important platform to students to showcase their talent and develop confidence.

“(Such) events become the grounds where future talent finds its footing,” he said.
