Gujarat Diocese delegation visits city
A delegation of 140 priests from Gujarat Diocese, Church of North India (CNI), led by Bishop Silvanus Christian, visited the Diocese of Amritsar, CNI, for a one-day spiritual retreat. The retreat was organised by Reverend Manoj Charan, Acting Deputy Moderator, CNI, Bishop, Bombay Diocese, with additional charge of Bhopal Diocese and the Diocese of Amritsar.
The itinerary of this team of pastors from Gujarat Diocese, on a tour of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, included a stopover at Ludhiana. During their visit to Amritsar, they also visited the Attari border.
Daniel B Das, secretary, ADTA, Reverend Ayub Daniel, Administrator, Diocese of Amritsar, CNI, and others welcomed Bishop Silvanus Christian and his wife Jenish on their arrival in Amritsar. Expressing his deep joy at visiting Amritsar, Bishop Christian appreciated the warm hospitality extended to the delegation.
“As we approach Good Friday, commemorating the death of Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, and Easter marking His resurrection from the dead, we are reminded of the message of hope, love and redemption that Lord Jesus Christ brought to humanity. May this Easter season bring peace, joy and renewal to all. And we, as servants of the Lord, are committed to continue spreading His message of love and compassion to all,” said Bishop Silvanus Christian.
“The retreat provided an opportunity for spiritual reflection, fellowship and exchange of ideas among the clergy from Gujarat and Amritsar. The diocese is committed to organising more such events in the future,” said Bishop Manoj Charan.
