Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Sarhali, established in 1970 by Sant Baba Tara Singh, organised a one-day awareness programme on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The P.G. Department of Commerce held the event in collaboration with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The aim was to create awareness among students about protecting intellectual property.
Mrigendra Bedi, Assistant Director at Punjab Technical University and Advisor, SROT, delivered the keynote address. He explained the importance of intellectual property and outlined patents, copyrights, trademarks and industrial designs, along with their registration procedures.
Amit Madaan stressed the need to safeguard ideas in the startup era and urged students to turn innovation into intellectual assets. Jaideep Singh, Convener, Amritsar Zone, PHDCCI and Managing Director, Wardrobe, shared practical insights on the commercial value of intellectual property.
Muskan Sharma, IPR expert at Integrum Intellectual Property, Mohali, guided students on patent and trademark filing and discussed common challenges in registration.
Shruti Sharma conducted the programme. Summi Arora, Head of the P.G. Department of Commerce, organised the event with faculty member Jaideep. Students participated actively and interacted with the speakers.
