Amritsar, December 8

A Hindu jatha, under the patronage of Kendriya Sanatan Dharam Sabha, will cross over to Pakistan for paying obeisance at the Katasraj temple from December 13.

The jatha will return back on December 19.

Indian External Affairs Ministry has permitted the sabha to go ahead with the pilgrimage, said sabha president Shiv Pratap Bajaj and added that the Pakistan government was also intimated about the proposed yatra.

He said the Pakistan High Commission was handed over passports of pilgrims and they were awaiting that how many of them would be granted visas.

He said the ancient temple was believed to be the same site where Pandavas in exile were engaged in a riddle contest with Yakshas.

The Katasraj is spread across two km of area and there are many ancient temples to visit there, he said.

They will have holy dip at Amar Kund in the ancient temple.
