The Punjab Technical Institute of Sports (PTIS), in collaboration with Government Polytechnic College, Amritsar, hosted the second day of the Punjab Inter-Polytechnic Youth Festival 2025-26 at the Dashmesh Auditorium of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

The event was led by PTIS president Parambir Singh Matewal, Principal Davinder Singh Bhatti, Ram Saroop and Amanpreet Singh. Dr Sushil Mittal, vice-chancellor of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, was the chief guest. Karamjit Singh Rintu, Chairman, Amritsar Improvement Trust, and Priyanka Sharma, Senior Deputy Mayor of Amritsar, were also present during the ceremony.

"This youth festival provides an opportunity every year for students from various polytechnic colleges in Punjab to showcase their talent and cultural heritage. At the 2025-26 edition of the Youth Festival, the students showcased Punjabi folk culture, art and creativity," said Matewal.

Chief guest Dr Sushil Mittal, vice-chancellor of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, in his address, said that the youth of Punjab are extremely talented and that youth festivals like PTIS connect students with their cultural identity. He said that education should not be limited to books-it should be a means to physical, mental and spiritual development.

Karamjit Singh Rintu said that cultural activities are also essential for the overall development of students. Parambir Singh Matewal said that the aim of PTIS is to strengthen students not only technically but also culturally. He also said that any student who comes on stage is already a winner.

Students from government and private polytechnic colleges across the state participated enthusiastically. The winners of the competitions were presented with trophies and certificates by Karamjit Singh Rintu and Senior Deputy Mayor Priyanka Sharma.

Principal Davinder Singh Bhatti said, "This celebration symbolises not only victory, but also learning and unity. The future of Punjab will be determined by these young people. This youth festival proved that Punjab's technical students are at the forefront not only in the field of education but also in the cultural sphere."
