Iran-Israel conflict: Flight operations disrupted at Amritsar Airport
10 international departures from Amritsar to cities including Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat and Doha affected
Escalating military tensions in the Middle East have led to the cancellation and disruption of several international flights operating from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport to Gulf destinations, airport sources said on Sunday.
10 international departures from Amritsar to cities including Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat and Doha were affected after multiple countries in the region temporarily closed or restricted their airspace following joint US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
Aviation authorities in Qatar, the UAE, Iran and Iraq have either imposed restrictions or temporarily shut their airspace as a precautionary measure, significantly impacting regional flight routes.

Qatar Airways announced that its operations remained temporarily suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace. The airline said services would resume once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms the safe reopening of airspace.
Air India also issued an operational update, stating that in view of the evolving situation and prioritising passenger and crew safety, it has cancelled select flights scheduled for March 1, including the Amritsar–London (Gatwick)–Amritsar service.
According to aviation sources, flights operated by Emirates and flydubai to Dubai have been suspended until further notice. Services by IndiGo, Air India Express and SpiceJet to Sharjah and Dubai were either turned back mid-route or diverted due to sudden airspace restrictions. One SpiceJet flight was reportedly diverted to Ahmedabad as a precautionary measure.
Authorities at Amritsar airport have tightened security arrangements as a precaution. Officials have advised passengers to stay in close contact with their respective airlines for real-time updates, rebooking options or refunds, as the situation remains fluid and dependent on further developments in the region.
