State BJP president Sunil Jakhar today visited the family of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, District Manager (DM) of Punjab Warehousing Corporation, who allegedly died by suicide here today.
He expressed condolences and assured all possible support. Later, speaking to media, Jakhar said that the BJP will fight at every level to ensure justice for the victim's family. He stated that earlier, people in Punjab were losing their lives due to their inability to pay extortion money and were facing gangster rule, but now even government officials are being forced to take their own lives due to their inability to meet the alleged demands of ministers.
Terming the incident as equivalent to the broad daylight murder of an officer, he demanded immediate FIR against AAP Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar and his arrest. Jakhar also expressed surprise over the Chief Minister's statement that the probe would be handed over to the Chief Secretary, questioning since when has the Chief Secretary been investigating murder cases.
The BJP state president said that the incident exposes the reality of the government's claim of "staunch honesty".
He further stated that CM Mann has now become a burden on his position. "The BJP will not remain silent until justice is delivered to the victim's family," he said while demanding that the CM should take the moral responsibility and resign, and that the case be investigated by an independent agency in a time-bound manner.
