Mass organisations hold rally in Tarn Taran to mark Anti-Imperialism Day
On the occasion, support was extended to the ongoing agitation of ASHA workers
Mass organisations observed Anti-Imperialism Day here on Monday. A joint platform of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha and the Trade Union Council commemorated the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
On this occasion, a rally was organised by public organisations in front of the District Administrative Complex. It was addressed by leaders of various organisations, including Mahanbir Singh Gill, Tarsem Singh Lohar, Seema Sohal, Nachhattar Singh Pannu, Manjit Singh Baggu, Pargat Singh Jamarai, Harjinder Singh Tanda, Daljit Singh Dayalpur, Dalwinder Singh Pannu, and others.
The speakers said that even today the world faces a serious threat from pro-imperialist forces, alleging that imperialism continues to harm humanity in its pursuit of control over natural resources. The leaders also expressed deep sorrow over the suicide of Punjab State Warehousing Corporation district manager Gagandeep Singh Randhawa and demanded exemplary action against those accused.
On the occasion, support was extended to the ongoing agitation of ASHA workers. Farmers and labourers participating in the rally also carried out a march from the District Administrative Complex to the Cooperative Sugar Mill at Sheron, where they burnt an effigy of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The organisations strongly condemned the allotment of 100 acres of sugar mill land to other institutions.
