Amritsar, June 17
The Municipal Corporation (MC) had constituted 10 teams and deployed 300 employees to conduct survey for the delimitation of wards in the city, which is expected to get over by June 21.
Total 7,000 blocks have been constituted for the new demarcation of wards for the MC elections.
MC Joint Commissioner Hardeep Singh constituted 10 teams under five Assistant Town Planners and five Municipal Corporation superintendents. These teams are expected to complete the work by June 21. According to the information, a meeting of delimitation board constituted by the Department of Local Government has been scheduled for June 21.
The door-to-door survey started on Tuesday. There were around 70 employees of the MC, who didn’t join duty of the survey on Day 1. The MC Joint Commissioner took strict notice of such absentee employees. Assistant Town Planner (ATP) Varinder Mohan is conducting survey in 835 blocks along with 36 employees. ATP Parminderjeet Singh will conduct survey in 776 blocks with the help of 33 MC employees. The survey is being conducted in 1,300 blocks by ATP Parmjit Dutta and 56 employees.
ATP Kulwant Singh is conducting survey in 367 blocks with 16 employees.
ATP Sanjeev Devgan with 24 employees has been appointed for 581 blocks. Superintendent Pradeep Rajput and 29 employees are conducting survey in 680 blocks. Superintendent Davinder Babbar and 25 employees have been assigned for 590 blocks. Superintendent Gurpreet Singh Bhatia and 10 employees are working in 230 blocks. Superintendent Jaswinder Singh is conducting survey in 1,085 blocks with 47 employees.
