MC suspends two sanitation employees

Amritsar: The Municipal Corporation on Friday suspended two sanitation workers for negligence while discharging duties. The action was taken after the reports of garbage lying at the MC’s head office were received. The suspended employees have been identified as safai karamchari Surender Kumar and sewerman Ajay Kumar. Municipal Health Officer Dr Yogesh Arora said, “We got information that these sanitation workers were not doing their job properly. Owing to the negligence of both employees, the MC head office is witnessing heaps of garbage. When the MC is making efforts to clean the whole city, it is not tolerable that the MC head office should look filthy. We will take departmental action against the employees concerned.” — TNS
