AMRITSAR: A youth was booked for allegedly sodomising an 11-year-old boy here on Sunday.

A youth was booked for allegedly sodomising an 11-year-old boy here on Sunday. The Ranjit Avenue police registered a case under Section 377 of the IPC and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against the accused.

Mahinder Singh, investigation officer, said the accused was yet to be arrested. The victim’s father stated in his police complaint that his son informed him about the accused subjecting him to unnatural sex. When he raised the alarm, the accused fled away from the spot. He said raids were on to nab the suspect.

The complainant has sought immediate arrest of the accused and an exemplary punishment.
