The body of a 50-year-old migrant woman was found in fields near the Sun City area here on Saturday.

She went missing on November 27.

The deceased has been identified as Bimla Devi, a resident of Indira Colony, Mustafabad. According to the police, she had gone to take food for rabbits, but did not return home.

She originally hailed from Gaunda district in Uttar Pradesh.

According to cops, she had an injury caused by a blunt weapon on her left side of the head. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination on Sunday.

Investigating officer Davinder Singh said the police were working on different theories. He said they had some clues in the case. He hoped the case would be cracked soon.

A case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against unidentified persons.

Mukesh Kumar, son of the deceased, said his mother used to work in a garment factory near the Sun City area.

He said, “On November 27, she did not get work and returned home. Later, she left the house for taking food for rabbits. But, she did not return. We tried to find her. After failing to locate her, we filed a missing complaint with the police,” he added.

“We continued to search her. On Saturday, we found her body from bushes,” he said.
