Nishan-e-Sikhi school showcases Sikh history at prize distribution function

The ninth annual prize distribution ceremony of the Nishan-E-Sikhi International School, Khadoor Sahib, under the patronage of Baba Sewa Singh, was held on Saturday. Justice Surinder Singh Saron, former Senior Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, was the chief guest on the occasion and the event was presided over by Gurbir Singh Mangat, former Managing Director of the Punjab State Cooperative Bank. On the occasion, Kanwaljit Singh Bajwa, District and Sessions Judge, Tarn Taran, and Monica Chauhan, Civil Judge (Senior Division), were also present.

Students presented a variety of performances on different themes, including environment, Sikh-history-based performance depicting Wadda Ghallughara, choreography on the prevention of plastic, choreography titled Agla Janam, religious choreography Srishti Di Chadar, orchestra, pyramid formation, recitation of Bachittar Natak. The school’s annual report was presented by Principal Amarjit Singh, detailing the school’s remarkable achievements.

Students excelled academically and those with 100 per cent attendance were honoured with awards. Chief guest Saron lauded the efforts of Baba Sewa Singh in the fields of education, environmental awareness and in giving due importance to the Punjabi language.

Baba Sewa Singh and the school management honoured the chief guest with a memento and thanked all the guests, dignitaries of the area, parents, staff and students for making the programme a success.

Baba Gurpreet Singh, Baba Baldev Singh, Secretary Jaswinder Pal Singh, Bhai Waryam Singh, Navpreet Kaur (Headmistress), Sukhdev Singh UK, Jasvir Singh UK, along with the directors, principals and management committee members of the various institutions of the Nishan-e-Sikhi Charitable Trust, were also present on the occasion.
