Arjuna Awardee and Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Simranjeet Singh has assumed office as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) for Patti and Bhikhiwind in Tarn Taran district. The ace hockey forward, who also won a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games, was appointed to the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) Executive cadre by the Punjab government following his Olympic success at Tokyo 2020.

After taking charge on Saturday, Simranjeet expressed his gratitude for the new role, stating, “I am grateful for this opportunity and remain committed to working for the welfare of the people of Patti and Bhikhiwind.” Having represented India on international sports platforms, Simranjeet Singh is now set to serve the people of Punjab with the same dedication, discipline and commitment he displayed on the hockey field.
