The Harike police have booked one person for abducting a teenage girl on Thursday night. The victim’s family in a statement recorded with the police stated that the accused abducted their girl when they were sleeping in the house. The family found the girl missing from her bed and searched for her, but she was not traceable. The victim’s family told the police that Satnam Singh, a resident of Harike, had abducted their girl by luring to marry her.

ASI Sukhdev Singh said a case under Sections 137 (2) and 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered against the accused.
