The police have arrested one more suspect in connection with the Rs1.66-crore robbery in the Baba Jagtar Singh dera here on February 24. He has been identified as Satnam Singh Satta of the district’s Sangha Tarn Taran. He was arrested on Thursday

With his arrest, the police have nabbed all six suspects and recovered all the cash stolen from the dera.

His accomplices, Sukhchain Singh Chaina and Lakhwinder Singh, were arrested on February 29, while Sukhwinder Singh Baba Bundi, Balwinder Singh Billa and Tarsem Singh were arrested on March 2. On the night of February 24, unidentified men broke into the dera located near Guru Nanak Multispecialty Hospital here and decamped with Rs1.66 crore.

The police had registered a case under Sections 379-B, 342, 459, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against unidentified persons based on the statement of Baba Bakhshish Singh, a dera follower. Section 395 of the Indian Penal Code was added to the FIR on March 1.

The police said Satnam Singh worked as a driver in the dera. He knew where the cash was kept as well as the location of guards deployed in the dera during the night.
