The District Congress Committee (DCC), in a meeting held at the local Congress Bhawan, called upon people to be ready to discard the AAP government in the state.
Describing the party as double-faced, Congress leaders said AAP came to power by raising false slogans of revolution and making hollow promises of turning Punjab into a prosperous state. They said it is no secret that the AAP is indulging in politics by deviating from the real issues of the state.
While addressing the meeting, Rajbir Singh Bhullar, president, DCC, said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann does not care about Punjab and the people of Punjab, he only considers making jokes as his first profession, while in reality, Punjab is going through one of its worst phases.
He said drug smuggling in Punjab is at its peak and gangsterism has led to an atmosphere of fear and sleep deprivation among people. He said traders, businessmen and shopkeepers of Punjab are being threatened by gangsters for extortion and in case of non-payment of extortion money, victims are killed and every section of Punjab is living under constant fear.
