Panghura gets first child

Since the installation of ‘Panghura’ four months ago by the District Red Cross Society at the local Civil Hospital, the ‘Panghura’ on Thursday got a male newborn. Two unidentified women, after putting the baby in cradle, left the spot. The baby has been referred to the ‘Nikkoo ward’ of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar, in serious condition, said Dr Shamsher Singh, Civil Surgeon. He said the condition of the baby was very critical as he his heart beat was recorded at 30 and he weighed 2 kg. A team of two doctors, led by Dr Gurpret Singh and Dr Neeraj Lata, treated the baby. — OC
