The five-day 18th edition of Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) will begin in Amritsar from December 5.

To be organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), its delegation on Monday called on Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann who unveiled the PITEX-2024 brochure. He urged industrialists to expand their operations in the state, assuring them of the government’s full cooperation.

During the visit, Karan Gilhotra, Chair of the PHDCCI Punjab State chapter, briefed Chief Minister Mann about PITEX’s growth since its inception 19 years ago. Starting with just 50 exhibitors, the trade expo has now grown to host over 500 exhibitors annually, attracting lakhs of visitors from across the region. He highlighted PITEX’s vital role in providing businesses with a platform to showcase and launch new products. “Previously, state industrialists had to travel to New Delhi and wait for trade expos to launch their products. PITEX eliminated this need by establishing a premier platform right here in Punjab, bringing the market to our doorstep,” he said.

She highlighted the Chamber’s recent collaboration with the state government to organise a conference on stubble management, reflecting its dedication to sustainable development. PITEX-2024 is expected to be a cornerstone event, fostering trade, innovation, and collaboration among businesses while solidifying the state’s position as an industrial hub.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann lauded the efforts of PHDCCI in fostering industrial growth in the state.
