The Amritsar rural police have booked the former secretary of the Tangra Multi-purpose Cooperative Society for the alleged bungling of funds to the tune of Rs 14.94 lakh at Jamowal village. The accused has been identified as Tarlok Singh

A case was registered following a probe after a complaint was lodged by the Assistant Registrar, Baba Bakala Cooperative Societies.

According to the information available, Tarlok Singh handed over the additional charge of the secretary after the incumbent, Gurmukh Singh, retired in July last year. In the complaint filed by the assistant registrar, it was alleged that Tarlok Singh bungled Rs 9.08 lakh from the cash credit limit of the society besides misappropriating Rs 5.36 lakh by hoodwinking five society members.
