Police recover 30 stolen vehicles, 6 individuals held

The city police have recovered 30 stolen vehicles and arrested six individuals involved in vehicle thefts. The recovery followed investigations into two separate FIRs.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Alam Vijay Singh said that 24 of the recovered vehicles were scooters and six were motorcycles. The accused include Joban Singh, a resident of Adarsh Nagar in Ajnala, who worked at a local dhaba, along with two juveniles. The police managed to recover 11 scooters and one motorcycle following their interrogation. The arrests took place in the Ranjit Avenue area.

Additionally, Rohit Kumar from Mohan Nagar, Verka; Saleem from Adarsh Nagar, Ajnala; and Sunny Sharma from Ajnala were arrested. These individuals worked as labourers. Their interrogation led to the recovery of 13 scooters and five bikes.

The DCP stated while the mastermind behind the thefts, a person from a nearby area, has been identified, they are still at large. He added more recoveries are expected following his arrest.
