Amritsar, July 12

A day after the death of a local resident due to electrocution, the Chheharta police have booked a sub-divisional officer of the PSPCL for causing death by negligence.

The victim, Bau Ram, was a rickshaw puller. He was carrying an air cooler when it came in contact with dangling wires in Baba Jeevan Singh Nagar.

Residents had held a protest against the PSPCL authorities, alleging that they had complained a number of times to the officials concerned and sought removal of the dangling wires. However, nothing was done and this led to the death of Bau Ram.
