Union Housing Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday interacted with students of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU).

He stressed upon India’s foreign policy, urban planning aspects, and called for collective efforts to fight terrorism.

Calling for collaborative steps to curb terrorism, he said, “It is wrong on the part of people to think that terrorism is someone else problem. Today, one may not have a direct impact. But not contributing to international drive against it is surely going to land one in trouble.”

He also talked about opening of the Kartarpur corridor, flagship programme of the Modi government and pointed out to United Nations Organisation’s failure to ensure international peace and law. “The UN has failed to tackle threats to international peace and law. The world has changed tremendously. We hope to secure a seat in the UN Security Council in our next term,” he added.

Talking about urban planning he deliberated upon informal settlements across nation. He said, “We need to understand that rural people are migrating to semi-urban areas due to growth opportunities. We are dealing with the problem of informal settlements at war footing. ”

He also condemned Pulwama terror attack on CRPF convey on Thursday.
