Rozgar mela begins today

Amritsar: The district Rozgar and Karobar Bureau will organise a placement mela for unemployed youth in the district at its office on Wednesday. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Surinder Singh said many local entrepreneurs and companies would attend the event to recruit workforce. The aspirants with a minimum educational qualification of Class X can attend the event at the district employment office in the District Administrative Complex from 10 am to 2 pm. They can use mobile helpline 9915789068 for their queries. TNS

No flood threat in district: DC

Amritsar: Stating that there is no threat of floods to the villages alongside the Ravi in the Ajnala belt, Deputy Commissioner Harpreet Singh Sudan added that all arrangements to deal with a flood-like situation were in place. Sudan said the Ajnala SDM was closely monitoring the situation. The district administration has also set up a control centre to deal with any emergency. The DC stated that residents can call at 0183-2229125 to get updates and report about the flood situation in the district.
