The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) honoured top performers from Punjab’s tourism and hospitality sector during the second Punjab Tourism Recognition Awards, organized last night as part of the 19th PITEX exhibition, declaring Rupnagar district as the state’s most preferred tourism destination of the year. PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Punjab Chapter Chair Karan Gilhotra congratulated all award winners in this region famous for hospitality. “The PHD Chamber to recognize the hard work of the people working in this field. We will be expanding this award for next year. So, those more famous personalities will be honoured by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry,” he said.

Addressing a gathering at the event, PHDCCI Deputy Secretary General Naveen Seth said that to further promote this sector, the Chamber started annual tourism awards last year. During the event, Rupnagar district was honoured with the Punjab Tourism Destination of the Year Award, and the Cape House, Amritsar, a farm retreat, received the Punjab Tourism Trailblazer Award. Similarly, Hansali Organic Farm was honoured with the Sustainability Champion of the Year, and the awards were also given to leading businesses in Amritsar. Bharawan Da Dhaba was given the Traditional In-City Dhaba Experience Award, and the Kazan Hospitality bagged the Premium Property Award. Former minister and Amritsar South MLA Inderbir Singh Nijjar, actor Rajat Bedi, PHDCCI Punjab Chair Karan Gilhotra, Nishchaiy Behl, Convenor PTR, Nipun Agarwal, Co Convenor Amritsar Zone, Senior Regional Director Bharti Sood and regional coordinator Jaideep Singh presented the awards to the winners.

Addressing the audience, actor Rajat Bedi said it was an honour to participate in the second edition of the Punjab Tourism Recognition Awards. He praised Punjab’s tourism industry for its growing focus on innovation, quality, and sustainable development.
