Bhikhiwind: School bus driver booked after fatal collision

Bhikhiwind police have registered a case against the driver of a school bus in connection with a road accident that claimed a life on January 31.

Police said the deceased was identified as Sukhwant Singh, a resident of Algon Kothi village. He was riding a motorcycle when he was hit by a school bus belonging to Sacred Heart School, Valtoha, near Algon Kothi village.

In his statement to the police, Daler Singh, brother of the deceased, said Sukhwant Singh sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was taken to a private hospital in Bhikhiwind, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The bus driver has been identified as Harwinder Singh, a resident of Dibipura village. He has been booked under Section 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) by the Valtoha police. The accused driver allegedly fled the spot after the accident.
