Scuffle in Amritsar jail: 5 inmates booked

Amritsar: Five prisoners were booked for scuffling with others inmates inside the jail complex. They were identified as Harmanbir Singh alias Harman, Manak Singh alias Sunny, Karanbir Singh, Gurwinder Singh and Shamsher Singh. Balwinder Singh, assistant superintendent of Central jail, said the accused clashed with each other yesterday thereby violating the jail rules and therefore a complaint was lodged against them. All suspects were booked under Section 52 of the Prisons Act. TNS

Amritsar: The Department of Orthopaedics at Government Medical College (GMC) here organised a conference on Sunday to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in the field of medical sciences. The conference was organised under the aegis of the Punjab Orthopedic Association. Dr Raj Bahadur, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Dr Rajesh Malhotra, head department, AIIMS, Delhi, and other renowned orthopedicians as Dr PS Verka, Dr Hardas Singh, Dr HS Sohal, Dr Avtar Singh, Dr Sudhir Garg, Dr Rajnish Garg and Dr PN Gupta were also present.
