Second Khalsa Vahir from Akal Takht on Feb 25

Tarsem Singh, father of Member of Parliament from Khadoor Sahib, Amritpal Singh, who is currently lodged in Dibrugarh jail, on Thursday announced that the second Khalsa Vahir of Akali Dal Waris Punjab De will commence from the Akal Takht on February 25. He said the objective of the march would be to create public awareness about the demands and issues faced by the people of Punjab. The announcement was made after the senior leadership of Akali Dal Waris Punjab De, led by Tarsem Singh, paid obeisance at Akal Takht in Amritsar. The leaders offered prayers for the progress of Punjab, Panthic unity and the welfare of all.

Speaking on the occasion, Tarsem Singh said the purpose of offering prayers at the sacred Takht was to seek blessings from the holy seat of Guru Hargobind Singh ahead of the proposed Khalsa Vahir so that the Panthic and people-oriented campaign could be carried forward successfully with the grace of the Sikh Gurus. Following the obeisance, an important meeting was held at Bhai Gurdas Hall under the leadership of party coordinators Parmjit Singh Johal, Babu Singh Brar and Kabul Singh. During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on the political, social and economic situation of Punjab.

Discussions were held on key issues including drug prevention, industrial development to address employment and skill development for youth, rising cost and privatisation of education and lack of basic infrastructure. It was decided that the party would prepare a people-centric vision document and outline a roadmap for Punjab’s future.

Senior leaders including Lakha Singh Sidhana, Pargat Singh, Ajaypal Singh Dhillon, Sarabjit Singh Khanpur, Jugraj Singh Lalanangal, Gurpreet Singh Ghanga, Barjinder Singh Hussianpur and Dalair Singh Dod.
