Amritsar, July 29
The SGPC has served legal notice to Dr Vivek Bindra, a motivator on social media, for allegedly animating the personality of Guru Gobind Singh and presenting the Sikh history in a distorted manner.
Dr Bindra has also disobeyed the Akal Takht directives, which prohibits filming or animating Sikh Gurus.
SGPC assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas said the SGPC was also mulling to get a case registered against Dr Bindra for hurting the religious sentiments of Sikhs.
“The police administration has been approached in this direction,” he said.
Giving information about the issue, he said Dr Bindra had uploaded an animation video of Guru Gobind Singh and Diwan Todar Mal on the social media. This video was examined by the SGPC’s Sikh Itihas Research Board when various objections from the Sikh community were received.
The examination revealed that Dr Bindra distorted the facts of the Sikh history by linking Diwan Todar Mal with the Jain community. “Moreover, in the video he also displayed the conversation between Diwan Todar Mal and Guru Gobind Singh, which is historically unfounded,” he said.
Ramdas said SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami ordered action while taking strict note of the matter, following which, legal notice was sent to Dr Bindra.
