Six arrested with drugs

Six persons, including a woman, have been arrested by the police for drug peddling. As much as 84 gm of heroin and 1,674 intoxicating tablets were seized.

Mohinder Kaur of Rattoke village, 45 km from here, was arrested by the Khemkaran police for possessing 30 gm of heroin. Besides, 700 intoxicating tablets were also seized from her possession. At the same time, the Harike police arrested Deepak Kumar of Makhu (Ferozepur) with 50 gm of heroin and 824 intoxicating tablets from Harike, 32 km from here, on Sunday.

Bhikhiwind SHO, Sub-Inspector (SI) Manjinder Singh said the police had busted an eight-member gang of drug traders. “Gurpinder Singh, Vishal Kumar, Gurpreet Singh and Satindebir Singh of Bhikhiwind have been arrested with four gm of heroin and 150 intoxicating tablets. Four others are at large,” he added. — OC
